Teen stabbing suspect turns himself in

POUGHKEEPSIE – The 14-year-old Poughkeepsie boy wanted in connection with the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy, on a city street around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, turned himself in at Poughkeepsie Police headquarters.

He allegedly stabbed the other boy in the ribs when the two met after school for a planned fight. The victim was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening wounds and released the next day.

The alleged assailant was transported to a hospital for treatment of facial injuries.

The suspect was issued an appearance ticket to appear at the Dutchess County Probation Department at a later date. He will be charged by the county attorney’s office because he is a minor.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Poughkeepsie City Police at 845-451-7577.
