Dutchess County to offer free Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes concert

HYDE PARK – Rock and Roll legend Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes will be performing live at Dutchess County’s Bowdoin Park Bandshell on July 20 and the entertain will be provided free to the public courtesy of the county and its tourism arm.

The announcement was made Tuesday on a live Facebook feed by County Executive Marcus Molinaro and Dutchess Tourism President Mary Kay Vrba.

Their announcement came during the Hudson Valley Food and Beverage Summit at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.

In their live broadcast, the two announced that the concert will be free to the public, but registration will be required.  Those wishing to attend the 7 p.m. event can register online at  Residents are encouraged to bring a picnic, lawn chair, and blanket to the event.

Molinaro, who is increasing the use of social media for announcements, said "Dutchess County Parks are part of what makes us 'Distinctly Dutchess'.  We are excited to partner with Dutchess Tourism, Inc. to welcome Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes to our award-winning park and provide a free night of entertainment.  We made a commitment to bring great concert music back to Bowdoin Park and we are delivering!" 

Vrba added to the conversation saying "We welcome visitors and our local community back this summer for an enjoyable evening at Bowdoin.  This county park is truly an outdoor gem."
