School bus, two cars crash in Poughkeepsie

Witnesses say the school bus may have run a red light

POUGHKEEPSIE – Two school children and a bus monitor were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon when a small school bus operated by George Carroll Inc. was involved in an accident with two cars at the intersection of Corlies Avenue and Maple Street in the City of Poughkeepsie.

Witnesses said the bus drove through a red light. A police officer was observed giving the driver what appeared to be a ticket.

The accident remains under investigation.
