Route 218 in Highland Falls being repaired

HIGHLAND FALLS – The State Department of Transportation has performed repairs to the pothole strewn Route 218 in Highland Falls after Assemblyman Colin Schmitt and Mayor Joseph D’Onofrio brought their concerns to the agency last month.

Schmitt said that on Tuesday, repairs were being made to fill in the numerous potholes. The mayor had also made Schmitt aware of the growing concern about the area in front of Rite Aid on Main Street where a drainage ditch on the side of the road had collapsed causing excess water to run underneath the road.

DOT crews were out patching holes and doing pavement repairs with the drainage ditch issue to be addressed later this week weather permitting.
